Clay in the Potter’s Hand

Isaiah 64:8

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

We are the clay in the hands of the potter who is our Lord. The Lord God molds us, makes us and shapes us for His glory just as a potter molds, makes and shapes a beautiful pot out of the clay. The clay has to go through a whole process in the potter’s hand before a beautiful pot is formed. The clay neither knows what to expect nor its purpose in the end but the potter knows pretty well what his goal for the clay is. He turns the pottery wheel and uses his hands and fingers to shape up and also gets rid off the unwanted particles during the process.

In the same way, the Lord God is fully aware of what He wants to shape us up as and what His plan and purpose for our life is. He knows how to transform us in order to fulfill His goal for our life. We are the work of His mighty hands. He uses His hands and fingers to shape us up. During the process He also cleanses us and removes any dross from our hearts. The end result is a beautiful pot that the Lord God uses as He wants to for His glory!

If you are going through a tough trial in your life, take courage and know that the Lord is shaping you up according to His will for a special plan and purpose for your life. And, you are just in His mighty hands and trust the Lord while He makes you and shapes you according to His desire.
