God's Word

Psalm 119:105

105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

God’s word is precious and is a LAMP unto our feet, and a LIGHT unto our path. In John 1:1 we read that “1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The same Word that was God and was with God in the beginning is with us today.

When you light up a lamp it stays in one place but provides light to your path. As you walk with the lamp, it lights up the path before you. But you can’t see beyond a certain distance. This forces you to constantly walk with the lamp. The same is the case with the Word of God. In our life’s journey here on earth, the path before us is dark and is not clear to us. We have to dwell on the Word of God to help us in our journey. Most of the times, we don’t know the path to our final destination but with the Word of God, a few yards before us are clear to us. But, a few yards at a time is all we need to complete our journey and reach our final destination. If we could see the whole path, we probably would be overwhelmed and back-off or tread the wrong path. So, God reveals His plan a little at a time so that we could be with Him and His word to fulfill His entire plan for us.

Remember, it says in Matthew 7:13-14 that the narrow is the way that leads to life. “13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The narrower the way, the darker it is, but with the Word of God at your feet, the path is clearer and you will have the strength and courage to continue on. We are here to walk where the darkness exists as we are the light of the world. May the Word of God be a lamp unto your feet, and a light unto your path so that you can in turn be a light unto the world!
