God’s Ways and Thoughts over Ours

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

We humans are limited in our thoughts and ways. But God’s thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are God’s ways and thoughts higher for us. Do you want to go with your thoughts and ways or go with the Lord’s thoughts and ways? If you follow your ways and thoughts, you will miss the higher ways and thoughts that God has already planned for you. We cannot measure how high the heaven is above the earth and so can we not fathom God’s ways and thoughts for us. God’s ways and thoughts are totally incomparable to ours!

Psalm 36:7-9 says, “How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” If we go with God’s thoughts and ways, we are sure to receive the fountain of life and we will be filled with His goodness for a lifetime! Let us commit our lives, thoughts and ways into His mighty hands and go with His plan and purpose for our lives because they are the BEST for us. Let us put our whole-hearted trust in Him. Even amidst trials, He will let us bask in His light; He will satisfy us with the fatness of His house; He will let us drink of the river of His pleasures and give us the fountain of life.
